Ephesians 6:13-14

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, TO STAND. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about WITH TRUTH, and having on the breastplate of righteousness.

Religion and Politics

Ever notice that the people who say, "There are two things I never discuss: Religion and Politics!" are usually the most religious and political people you've ever met? Quite often people who say such things are either Athiests or Liberals. ATHIESTS Well, it takes a lot of faith to BELIEVE there is no God. In fact, to be religious means you believe in something. And athiests practice a lot of belief in their dogmatical religious views proclaiming there is no God. Did you know it takes just as much FAITH to believe there is NOT a God, as there is to believe there is a God? Think about that for a while! LIBERALS And those people who say they never talk about politics usually are the most political people I've ever met! They always have latched onto a political CAUSE which they are adamant about defending. They are usually members of the Democratic party and belong to the SEIU, PETA, ACLU, etc. My Dad told me one time something that I'll never forget. He said when someone tells you they are not "religious" or "political" they are liars, and that they are really BOTH! Because everyone is religious. Further religion has always been a part of politics and politicians have almost always used Religion for their own selfish gains. Sadly, in the day and age in which we live, we see POLITICS joining hands with RELIGION, as our government is embracing FAITH BASED GROUPS, and asking them to help GREEN the ECONOMY. Glenn Beck had a great show about this a day or two ago. For more info go to: http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/40847/ http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/obamaannounceswhitehouseofficeoffaith-basedandneighborhoodpartnerships/ http://biggovernment.com/wthuston/2010/05/16/obamas-faith-based-programs-pushing-global-warming-climate-change-green-issues/ Or just search for the "partnership" of FAITH BASED INITIATIVES to see how the white house and the Ecumenical National Council of Churches have joined hands. Now religion and politics are one and the same! No longer can someone say, "I don't talk about religion and politics!" For politics is a religion! And religion is political! The new political religion is believing the lie that global warming is true, and that we need to "green" things down, and save the earth. (They say CO2 is the problem. But isn't that what trees need to breathe? Shouldn't we then maybe make more CO2 and then the trees would be truly "greener?") I've got news for you, God is not interested in saving the earth! Read the book of Revelation, and you'll see God's going to destroy the whole earth one day and make a new heaven and new earth! Nope, GOD IS ONLY INTERESTED IN SAVING MAN'S SOUL FROM HELL! Don't worry about GLOBAL WARMING, you ought to be worried about ETERNAL BURNING in Hell! Are you born again? If not, you need to be saved! I'm not interested in talking about RELIGION or POLITICS. I'm interested in talking about SALVATION! Religion defined is, "A system of works a man does to try to justifiy himself before God." But, religion won't get anyone to heaven. If you'll remember it was the RELIGIOUS crowd (the Pharisees) that killed Jesus. And, boy were they POLITICAL in going to Pontius Pilate of Rome (the government) and asking him to crucify Jesus. Salvation, however, is what a sinner takes when he realizes his sins are what put Jesus on the cross, and he stops trusting his own self-righteousness and trusts in the finished work of Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of his sins. Are you Religious? Congratulations, you are no better than a Pharisee. Are you Politicial? Great, you're just as bad as Pontius Pilate-a murder-who killed Jesus Christ. The question isn't are you religious or political. The big question is, "Are you saved?" If not, you must be born again, those are Jesus' words, not mine! (John chapter 3).
